THE GAME A.K.A MUSIC INDUSTRY

We all know it and nowadays we all want to be in it, I'm talking about the Music industry a.k.a The Game. Remember when the music industry was great and you actually had to have some talent to get in it? Remember when you would race home from school just to catch the music videos? Remember when videos were actually good? Hell remember when MTV, BET, and VH1 actually played videos all the time? What ever happen to those days?

These days everyone is saying that Hip-Hop is dead especially if you were born before the mid 90s. The reason why people feel this way is because the game has become over saturated with bullshit gimmicky music. It seems like the days of the lyrical rapper are over or are the lyrical rappers just being overlooked? I think they are being overlooked personally, ever since Soulja Boy came out and started the "Gimmick Revolution" all the labels are looking for is that next new Gimmick to make a quick buck. These days music is just about hot beats and hooks, it really doesn't matter what you say in between, how many times have you heard a song and the first thing you said was "the song's ok but the beat go hard". There are very few hot artist coming out these days but there are a lot of hot producers. The game is missing originality everybody is starting to sound the same, so much so that if your in the club especially in ATL you'll think you heard the same song 8 times and in actuality it was 8 different songs. Rick Ross is a prime example go listen to "BMF" and then listen to "MC Hammer" and tell me you don't want to say "I think I'm big Meech" when "MC Hammer" first comes on. This is the reason why Nicki Minaj and Drake are so successful because in a game of carbon copies they came with something original, like them or not they were a breath of fresh air to the game. The problem with artist these days are they are content with being local or regional celebrities, they just want to make their little show money and get some groupie love.

Have you ever really wondered why so many wack rappers are getting on these days? It's because the wackest rappers usually have a very strong support system a.k.a team, a connect or two in the industry, and access to some hot beats. Their "TEAM" is usually strong because the team actually knows that the person sucks lyrically but they give them a confidence boost so they won't be discouraged. Now on the other hand the talented artist won't have a strong team due to the fact that he/she is talented so they feel like they can make it on just talent alone. In some cases the talented artist might get hated on by his own team for being more talented than they are especially if they do music as well. The indie game is becoming very cut throat because artist are not supporting each other, just supporting the people they know. To all my aspiring artist out there support one another now I'm not saying support everyone because lets face it some people really just aren't that damn good, but support people that are worth supporting.

Think about this Wale has been out for 1 or 2 now but he's just now starting to get more popular because of the "No Hands" song he did with Waka Flocka & Roscoe Dash. What's even crazier is that people will argue you to the death to tell you he had the worst verse...seriously?

So who will be the next big thing? Is hip hop really dead or just in a coma?
